I just purchased a Scott's Standard Broadcast spreader from Lowes and was going to apply the Lesco 0-0-7 Pre-emergent to my lawn. Looking at Lesco's website - the application rate is 4-5.3lb/1000sqft however they don't mention the spreader setting for the above spreader.there are other Scott's spreaders like Accugreen and EasyGreen mentioned but not the standard. Does anybody have an idea what the setting should be set to? I just doing feel like attaching a bag to the spreader and doing all that measuriing:).

I agree with dchall san antonio above, trial and error is probably the best way to get to know your spreaders settings. I purchased a new Earthway 2170 last year and I spread milorganite, cracked corn, and alfalfa pellets purposefully, but also as a trial so to not do anything harmful to the lawn. Then, when I applied a late season pre emergent I was more confident of the settings. I still had to stop and make small adjustments just based on a visible assessment of what the spreader was doing. Lesco's recommended spreader settings are just an estimate and need adjusted. They listed Earthway spreaders on the Lesco pre emergent I had but I had to watch how it was being spread and then adjust up or down from there. Edited to add: I just noticed this thread is over 9 years old.

First, always review any special application information in the Apply section on the back of the bag and identify the correct Spreader Setting. Next, set the dial on the spreader. To apply to the lawn, start on the outside with the EdgeGuard® on to keep product off landscaping and driveways.
